The word on Willie's Grill & Icehouse
Here's the word going around
I haven't untangled this service model myself yet, so this is the diners' read, not mine.

By most accounts the service model has people scratching their heads: order at the counter, pour your own drink, sit down, and ten or fifteen minutes later a waiter materializes while a runner's already dropped the food, logic nobody quite cracks. What reviewers do crack is the seafood, where this Texas chain earns its keep: shrimp tacos, brisket mac and cheese balls, and pickle chips people keep reaching for.
The chicken tenders come out moist, the caesar reads a clean palate-reset, and the chipotle brisket tacos are messy but worth the napkins. A Katie and Channing get credit for working the floor with real warmth, checking in without hovering. It's a big bar, big groups fit easy, the reviews say, and a good thing to have more food options landing in Leander.
Brisket mac and cheese balls and shrimp tacos? I'll happily figure out the order-yourself dance for those.
The Order
Reviewers point to the shrimp tacos, the brisket mac and cheese balls, and a side of pickle chips.
⚠ Gotcha
It's order-at-the-counter, get-your-own-drinks, but a server still comes by, by several accounts. Don't wait around for someone to take your order.
That's the word on this one.
