Whipped Bakery & Cafe Leander

My family ordered a tiramisu cake for my birthday and it was as gorgeous to look at as it was to eat: light, airy, the espresso and mascarpone holding hands. The cupcakes are the real ongoing love affair, though. The German chocolate one has icing that's flat-out decadent over a perfect base, and the Strawberry Tres Leches and Dubai chocolate chip both impressed me on a return trip. When I ordered a custom cake it was a showstopper, the kind people photograph at the party.

Whipped, over on Ronald Reagan, is the bakery I steer people to in this town. One honest heads-up: a graduation cake came back with the writing in the wrong color, and while they fixed it, there was no apology and some red residue left behind. Small ding on an otherwise excellent operation.
