Anthony's take

The Coffee Pot is one of those local cafe names that promises something unpretentious, a pot on, a counter, somewhere to land. I respect the instinct. In a fleet of drive-thru chains fighting over the same corner, an independent coffee spot earns goodwill just by existing and keeping the lights on.
I'll be straight: this one runs quiet, and I'm not going to dress it up with details it didn't hand me. What I can tell you is that a neighborhood coffee shop lives or dies on the people behind the bar and whether the cup is honest. Walk in, order simple, and let it show you what it is.
The Order
I keep it honest at a spot like this: a plain drip or a straight latte, and I judge the place on that.
