Anthony's take
By Anthony Martinez, The Leander Local · Updated June 2026
Takavron is a one-woman show, and the day I went she was working it alone, kind and trying hard through a bit of a language barrier. We sorted it out and I ordered the taco combo: a specialty taco, street tacos, chips and queso, and a drink for sixteen bucks. These aren't the fancy, overthought tacos every other shop is chasing. They're plump, honest, packed with meat, and sometimes that's exactly what I want. The pirata, with cheese griddled right onto the tortilla, was the standout.
It's not all smooth. The price runs high for what you get, portions can feel light to some depending on the day, and I've heard about dry, barely-toasted chicken at over six bucks a taco. The flavor is there when it's on. Just go in knowing it's a small operation run by one person, and bring some patience to the window along with your appetite.
The Order
The pirata with that cheese grilled onto the tortilla, and the taco combo if you want the full spread.
⚠ Gotcha
It's one woman running the whole truck, so expect a wait and a possible language barrier. Pricing runs high per taco.
