Anthony's take
By Anthony Martinez, The Leander Local · Updated June 2026
I had driven past this truck behind Night Owl for weeks before I finally pulled in, and I am furious it took me that long. The tacos ride on fresh corn tortillas with griddled cheese crisped right onto them, which is one of the great things you can do to a taco, and the meat is fresh and generous enough that I split one and still felt fed. The al pastor carries a real smoky depth, and the smoked pork belly taco is the one I keep dreaming about. The owners serve you themselves, and they are kind in the way only people who care about their food can be.
There is solid covered seating, even a spot to catch football, which is more than most trucks bother with. The street corn passed my pickiest test. This is gravel-lot, owner-run cooking at its best, the exact thing worth a detour. I only wish it were closer so I could go broke eating here weekly.
The Order
The smoked pork belly taco and the al pastor, with street corn on the side.
⚠ Gotcha
It's a food truck, so it's outdoor and covered seating only. Worth it anyway.
