The word on Super Valle Meat Market

Here's the word going around

I haven't shopped this counter yet, so this is the diners' read, not mine.

Anthony, The Leander Local · Last checked August 2026

By most accounts anyone who loves authentic Mexican food should get here. Reviewers report hitting it repeatedly in a single week and falling hard for both the people and the food: barbacoa and pastor called excellent, a tamale of honest pork with real chunks of meat instead of sad fillings, and fresh melon and pineapple juices worth the stop on their own. No Spanish, no problem, people say, someone's there to help you order.

It's also a proper meat market, the reviews note, carrying goat, beef liver, and ox tail, cuts you won't find at HEB. Look around at the clientele and you see a room full of satisfied people. Food and necessities under one roof, done right.

Pastor and barbacoa that spoil people for HEB? I'm walking in hungry and leaving with the ox tail too.

The Order

Reviewers point to the pastor and the barbacoa, a pork tamale, and a fresh melon or pineapple juice.

That's the word on this one.
