This Starbucks moves fast and the drinks land: the caramel ribbon crunch is the kind of sugary thing I pretend I'm above and then finish, and the lemon pound cake is, in the words I'll borrow, the bomb. The bakery case has been genuinely good, the drinks reliable. On the right visit it does exactly what a coffee stop should.

But I can't bury the bad day. Workers handling orders with the same hands that just touched a mop, no gloves, a counter person named Lydia rolling her eyes at a customer asking for a cup of water. Cleanliness and basic courtesy aren't optional, they're the floor. When this store hits that floor, it's a quick, tasty stop. When it doesn't, it's the reason people drive the extra two miles.
