Online ordering. Porch pickup. Not exactly white tablecloth service, but who cares? This is Leander, and Mockingbird Bakes is doing it right. A local operation, no fancy storefront, just pure, unadulterated sugar alchemy. My kids, those little vultures, descended on the Ooey Gooey Smores and Birthday Cake cookies like it was their last meal. Watching their faces light up? Almost worth the sacrifice. Almost. Because the real prize, for me, was the Oatmeal Cream Pie. That thing was a revelation. It had that perfect balance, not too sweet, just pure, nostalgic comfort. The kind of thing that makes you close your eyes and forget the world for a moment. The packaging itself was a pleasant surprise, clean, professional, even a handwritten note. A personal touch in a world of soulless corporate junk. This place is a genuine hidden gem, a sweet whisper in the noise. I'll be back, there's more to try.

These are the best cookies!! They are deliciously thick and moist and come in many flavors. I first had one at a small friends gathering and everyone loved them. So I ordered a variety box for a party I was hosting and everyone at my event loved them as well. She (Traci, the owner /baker) makes them to order and individually wraps them which keeps them so fresh. And they are boxed beautifully like a fancy gift. I highly recommend these for any occasion!
