Anthony's take
By Anthony Martinez, The Leander Local · Updated June 2026
Menchie's is froyo democracy: you pull your own lever, pile your own toppings, weigh it, done. The Leander spot is clean and the flavors are fine, middle-of-the-road sweet. The friction is everything around the yogurt. I built my own cup start to finish, then the register hit me with a tip prompt that wouldn't dip below 15 percent for someone who just stood there and rang me up. On a self-serve counter, that's a bold ask.
Then there's the $6 Tuesday deal that doesn't start until 6pm, which nobody mentions until your kid's cup is already full at 5:30. And I've heard the same complaint more than once about a brusque employee and bare topping bins. It's froyo, it'll scratch the itch, but it tests your patience to get there.
The Order
I'd keep it simple: one tart base, fresh fruit, weigh light, and watch the scale.
⚠ Gotcha
The $6 Tuesday deal starts at 6pm, and the checkout tip prompt defaults high on a fully self-serve order. Adjust both.
