Anthony's take

By Anthony Martinez, The Leander Local · Updated June 2026

Guaco Taco is less a restaurant than a neighborhood living room that happens to serve tacos. Family-owned, the owner working the floor making sure the beer is cold and the margaritas are flowing, and the whole menu is gluten free, which quietly makes a lot of people's nights. I came for the chips and cheese and the fries with house-made ketchup and stayed for the chaos: sing-along bingo, karaoke, crawfish boils, morning bloody marys. The time out margarita with a tajin rim is the move.

It is not flawless. The tables wobble and I have heard about service falling apart when the room gets slammed, an order vanishing into the void. But the heart of the place is real and the food is fresh and high quality. Go for the vibe and the people, forgive the occasional stumble, and you will have a good time.

The Order

Chips and cheese, fries with the house ketchup, and a time out margarita with a tajin rim.

⚠ Gotcha

Service can buckle when it's busy and the tables wobble. Come for the party, not for precision.
