Grand donuts

I pulled in for donuts and walked out loyal to the kolaches. The sausage and cheese number does the thing a good kolache should do: fluffy bread with a gentle buttery push, the savory tucked inside like it belongs there. The donuts hold up too, and when the pumpkin spice cake ones are on, you order one before you talk yourself out of it. This is a small operation run by people who clearly work hard, and you can taste the effort.

The room is clean and cute enough that the kid at the next table wanted to sit down and stay, which tells you everything. Fresh every morning, friendly behind the counter, prices that do not punish you for feeding a crew. I came hungry and left planning my next trip.
