The word on Giovanni’s Pizza & Pasta

Here's the word going around

I haven't pulled a slice off this one yet, so this is the diners' read, not mine.

Anthony, The Leander Local · Last checked August 2026

By most accounts the pizza is the reason to come. Reviewers describe a large, half Hawaiian and half pepperoni with mushrooms, landing in that Alamo Drafthouse zone: flavorful crust with a firm chew, not thin, not fluffy, the extra cheese warm and soft. This far north of Austin, people call a pie this good a find, and a regular stop.

Fair warning, the reviews say the place isn't what it was: the barbacoa and breakfast tacos that used to draw fell off hard after a staff change about a year back, and service can swing rude. The recurring advice: stick to the pie and you'll leave happy.

A pie that tastes like the Drafthouse pizza people miss? That's a memory I want to chase down.

The Order

Reviewers point to a large pizza, half Hawaiian and half pepperoni with mushrooms, extra cheese.

⚠ Gotcha

Don't show up near the 3pm lunch-special cutoff expecting flexibility, by several accounts, one diner got turned away at 2:30 with attitude. And skip the barbacoa; it's not what it used to be.

That's the word on this one.
