Anthony's take
By Anthony Martinez, The Leander Local · Updated June 2026
Here's a riddle I couldn't solve: a lemon cake sat in the bakery case, I had cash in hand, and the gentleman behind the counter would not sell me the one in front of me. He vanished to a freezer, came back empty, and that was that. I grabbed a breakfast burrito instead, which tasted decent but arrived light on the potato the menu promised and heavier on the bill than I expected. Add gas pumps with the personality of a 1983 toaster and you've got a place that fights you a little.
And yet. The interior is genuinely nice, the shelves are loaded, and some of the staff were friendly enough to keep me from writing the whole thing off. It's a gas-and-go bakery with mood swings. Catch it on a good day and you'll be fine. Catch it on a cake day and you'll write your own villain origin story.
The Order
I'd grab a breakfast burrito and confirm the potato is actually in it before I drive off.
