The word on Coat and Thai

Here's the word going around

Full disclosure: I haven't personally braved the truck's offerings just yet.

Anthony, The Leander Local · Last checked August 2026

The word around the Leander and Cedar Park trucks isn't exactly a chorus of praise. Diners report a frustrating pattern of menu items listed, then simply unavailable, like tofu for various dishes, or key vegetables missing entirely from an E1 order. The chicken fried rice, by one account, was a mushy, unseasoned mess, and the spring rolls were described as little more than bare lettuce and carrots, served with a 'revolting' dipping sauce that one diner suspiciously pegged as thousand island.

The service, often a one man show, seems less than stellar. One customer, asking for a refund for an incomplete dish, was met with laughter. Not exactly the welcoming vibe one seeks from a local spot. The solitary glint of hope? A chicken pad thai, which one brave soul found to be 'fair and edible,' a ringing endorsement if ever there was one.

I'll eventually swing by to confirm these rumors, but I might pack a snack for the ride.

The Order

Raves? Not so much. If you're feeling lucky, or perhaps just hungry enough to take a chance, the chicken pad thai was, at least, deemed 'fair and edible' by one reviewer.

⚠ Gotcha

Expect missing ingredients and a potential side of disdain.

That's the word on this one.
