Anthony's take
By Anthony Martinez, The Leander Local · Updated June 2026
Brooklyn Heights is the neighborhood pizza-and-sports bar with a friendly, neighborly bar and staff that go out of their way. As a Chicago transplant I do not hand out pizza praise cheap, and the Mama Mia got me: good sauce, good crust, the meatballs are the real deal, and the fried pickles with ranch disappear fast. Made-to-order pies, even on a packed Tuesday, came out quick and right when I split a Brooklyn Heights Unlimited with a Maui Wowee.
Now the honest part. The lasagna that once arrived delicious and hearty has slipped on both quality and portion over the months, which is a real shame. And the wings are a hazard: I gnawed through four of ten and gave up because they came out tough and rubbery. Stick to the pizza and the apps and you will leave happy.
The Order
A made-to-order pie, half Brooklyn Heights Unlimited and half Maui Wowee, with fried pickles and the meatballs.
⚠ Gotcha
Skip the wings, they come out tough and rubbery, and the lasagna is not what it used to be.
