Anthony's take
By Anthony Martinez, The Leander Local · Updated June 2026
The food here is genuinely good and fairly priced. I had the empanadas and the pastelitos, both fresh, both flavorful, the kind of Venezuelan handheld I'll always say yes to. The women working the window were friendly and inviting, the part of this truck that's clearly running on heart. On the food alone, I'd send you here.
But I have to be straight about the service, because it's a coin flip. The owner can be in a genuinely sour mood, and when I asked why a Malta or Frescolita ran $3.75 when it's a fraction of that elsewhere, I got attitude back, a crack about going to Venezuela to drink it. That kind of thing can torpedo an otherwise nice meal. Great empanadas, friendly counter staff, an owner who needs to remember he's in the hospitality business.
The Order
The empanadas and the pastelitos. Skip the overpriced imported sodas.
⚠ Gotcha
Service is inconsistent and the bottled drinks are marked way up. Deal with the friendly window staff and keep it about the food.
